Lizann Allan
Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malasia, and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, Lizann has always
enjoyed travel and exploring new places. She loves the outdoors and likes to record what
she sees, and share it with others. Taking Fine Art courses at University, and teaching
art at the elementary school level satisfied some of her artistic interests, but after moving to
Kelowna and becoming part of the exciting art community in the Okanagan, she has found
more time to paint and explore various media. She enjoys watercolour and mixed media
techniques, but prefers the versatility and vibrancy of acrylic paints and the use of bright
colours to illustrate the beauty of the Okanagan.
Lizann has participated in workshops with various different local artists, and finds inspiration in her love of
travel and photography. As a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, the Painters' Studio, and the Impressions group, she has time to paint and enjoy the company and shared talents of other artists. Her work has been exhibited
in the annual Artwalk and at various locations in and around Kelowna.
