Yolanda Campbell

Yolanda was born in Pembroke, Ontario, grew up in Toronto, and moved west to Calgary, Alberta, to raise her three children. While there, she worked as a Repository Editor and Web/Multimedia Designer for the Calgary Board of Education. Continuing west, she retired in Kelowna, BC, where she began her painting journey.
The world of art opened up for her in 2014, when she met and began painting on a weekly basis with local artist, Mary Eagle. Although Yolanda’s art education has been self-directed, she is not self-taught. She has benefitted from the invaluable information passed on through Mary about painting and being an artist, and the technical knowledge she gained through numerous recreational art classes with Dani Lachuk. She has also been able to attend workshops by Jean Pederson, Kit Bell, Andrew McDermott, Juve Furtado, and Dene Croft, as well as attend many FCA and Opus demos. Yolanda is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Central Okanagan Chapter, and a new member of the Kelowna
Painters Studio Society.
Yolanda has found she doesn’t have to venture far for inspiration. She is a realist painter, painting in acrylics and oils, and finds the subjects for her paintings around her own home and neighbourhood.
